Senior Structural Engineer

MissionHires is partnering with a leading U.S. engineering consultancy to hire a Senior Structural Engineer in Baltimore, MD (on-site, no remote). The ideal candidate will lead complex steel, concrete, and masonry projects for commercial, institutional, industrial, and federal clients—owning the work from concept through completion, managing schedules and budgets, mentoring junior engineers, and collaborating closely with architects, contractors, and multi-disciplinary teams. Compensation: $110,000–$135,000 per year, direct hire.



Responsibilities:

• Lead structural design efforts for steel, concrete, and masonry structures from concept through completion
• Oversee project schedules, budgets, scope, and deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness
• Serve as primary point of contact for clients; build and maintain strong client relationships
• Coordinate and collaborate with architects, contractors, and internal engineering disciplines
• Review calculations, drawings, and specifications; ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards
• Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and quality reviews for junior staff
• Prepare and present design reports, submittals, and progress updates to stakeholders
• Support construction administration activities, including RFIs, submittal reviews, and site observations

Requirements:

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (BSCE) with a structural focus
• Active Structural Engineer (SE) or Professional Engineer (PE) license
• 8 years of structural design and project leadership experience
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and standard office software; familiarity with related structural design tools
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects for commercial, institutional, industrial, or federal clients
• Strong communication, organization, and client-facing skills
• Ability to work on-site in Baltimore, MD (no remote)
