Job Description
- Assessing potential investment opportunities through business and financial due diligence, including qualitative and quantitative risk/return analysis
- Building and maintaining financial and valuation models to evaluate performance, analyze loan-level data, perform scenario sensitivities, and support investment recommendations
- Monitoring portfolio companies and strategic positions, proactively identifying risks and opportunities to manage exposures
- Preparing clear and thorough investment memos outlining opportunities and associated risks
- Supporting investment structuring, negotiation, and execution
- Staying informed on market trends and regulatory developments affecting relevant asset classes
- Collaborating internally and maintaining professional relationships with key counterparties and sell-side partners
Requirements/Qualifications
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in investment banking, structured credit, securitized products trading, private equity, or buy-side investing
- Experience in a formal investment banking program with exposure to transaction execution and financial analysis is strongly preferred
- Sell-side trading or research experience in residential mortgage- or asset-backed securities is a plus
- Buy-side experience building financial models, analyzing loan-level data, performing due diligence, preparing investment materials, and supporting deal execution is advantageous
- Strong financial modeling and Excel skills; familiarity with Intex, Bloomberg, or Python is a plus
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Quick learner with a versatile skill set, intellectual curiosity, and a strong investment appetite
