Director - Accounting Policy
We are working with a fast-growing global investment firm to identify a highly specialized Accounting Policy professional for their Finance organization. This is a critical, sole-focus role for someone who lives and breathes technical accounting.
About the Role
This individual will be responsible for researching, interpreting, and documenting accounting guidance for complex transactions under U.S. GAAP. You'll partner across Finance, Treasury, Legal, Tax, Operations, and Business teams to ensure accurate accounting treatment and financial reporting, while also supporting external audit, new standard implementation, and special projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Research and document technical accounting conclusions for complex and non-routine transactions
- Prepare and maintain accounting memoranda supporting policy decisions
- Monitor and implement new and emerging accounting standards
- Support quarterly and annual financial reporting and technical disclosures
- Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Provide guidance and mentorship to Finance team members
- Participate in acquisitions, system implementations, and process transformation initiatives
Ideal Background
- 6-15 years of dedicated accounting policy experience
- Big 4 national office or in-house at a financial services firm only
- Sole-focus accounting policy background required — not auditors or accountants with secondary exposure
- Strong technical expertise across complex ASC standards
- CPA required
Compensation
Base Salary: Up to $300,000
Total Compensation: Up to $375,000
Salary : $250,000 - $300,000
