Overview
A mid-sized Boston-based law firm is seeking a hands-on Legal Billing Specialist to oversee legal billing and invoicing operations in a collaborative and professional office environment. This position works closely with attorneys, managing partners, and external vendors while supporting the firm’s ongoing operational infrastructure efforts.
The role is ideal for a billing professional who can operate independently, manage multiple billing deadlines, and maintain a high level of accuracy and professionalism.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, generate, and manage attorney pre-bills for review and submission
- Maintain attorney time entries and billing data
- Submit invoices through multiple e-billing platforms
- Ensure compliance with client billing guidelines and LEDES requirements
- Resolve billing discrepancies and invoice rejections
- Track accounts receivable and outstanding invoices
- Coordinate with the firm’s external bookkeeper and vendors
- Provide billing and administrative support to attorneys and managing partners
Qualifications
- Demonstrated legal billing experience in a law firm or legal environment
- Experience with LEDES billing formats required
- Familiarity with platforms such as Tymetrix, Legal Tracker, Brightflag, TeamConnect, or similar systems preferred
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage billing deadlines independently
- Professional communication skills when interacting with attorneys, leadership, and vendors
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary approximately $100,000 – $125,000, commensurate with experience

Schedule
- Full-time position
