What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Miskelly Furniture?
Miskelly Furniture is seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Forklift Operator to support our warehouse operations. This role is essential to maintaining efficient inventory flow and ensuring timely movement of furniture and materials within our distribution center to fill customer orders and transport items to the Customer Pick Up area.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate forklifts and other warehouse equipment to move, stack, and organize furniture and materials.
- Load and unload delivery trucks safely and efficiently.
- Assist with inventory management, including logging and tracking items.
- Physically load the merchandise onto the customer’s vehicle.
- Properly secure the merchandise in the vehicle to prevent damage during transportation
- Have the customer sign for pickup of the merchandise
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment.
- Follow all OSHA safety regulations and company policies.
- Collaborate with warehouse and delivery teams to ensure smooth operations.
- Cannot be afraid of heights **You will be 40 - 50 feet in the air on the lift**
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Valid Forklift Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Previous warehouse or forklift experience (1 years preferred).
- Ability to lift and move heavy furniture (100 lbs.)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Schedule:
Monday - Saturday ( one day off during the week - Saturdays are MANDATORY)
Monday - Friday Hours: 8am - 430pm
Saturday Hours: 10a - 7p
