Who We Are
Miskellys started a little over 45 years ago by three brothers who had a vision of building a business that treated customers fairly and supported local causes. Today that idea has grown to become the South’s largest assortment of furniture, covering over 500,000 square feet. We have seven retail locations with approximately 300 employees, and a solid reputation in Mississippi and among national furniture retailers.
The Role
Miskelly Furniture is seeking a strategic and results-driven Director of Retail operations to lead and optimize our store performance across multiple locations. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, enhancing customer experience, and supporting our mission to furnish happiness in every home.
What this person will do:
- Oversee daily operations of all retail store locations, ensuring alignment with company goals and brand standards.
- Lead, mentor, and develop store managers and Sales teams to achieve sales targets and operational KPIs.
- Implement and refine retail processes, policies, and procedures to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with executive leadership on strategic planning, budgeting, and performance forecasting.
- Report sales, goals, and forecasts to the Miskelly Leadership Team (MLT)
- Monitor inventory levels, merchandising standards, and store presentation to ensure consistency and excellence.
- Analyze sales data and customer feedback to identify trends and opportunities for growth.
- Work collaboratively with other departments: marketing, operations, HR, and finance to ensure cross-functional alignment
- Drive initiatives to improve employee engagement, training, and retentions
- Demonstrate the Miskelly Core Values by doing the right thing, being a humble servant, succeeding together, winning our customer’s hearts, and eliminating complexity
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or related field highly desired
- High School Diploma or equivalent a must.
- 8-10 years minimum related experience - in the Furniture Industry a Huge Plus!
- Proven History showcasing driving revenue growth
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to successfully mentor and coach employees
- Experience building successful sales teams
- CRM system experience
- Sales forecasting tools experience
- Sales data analysis
- Ability to travel regularly between store locations
