What are the responsibilities and job description for the TOOL & DIE MAKER position at Minute Men Staffing?
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented metal stamping Tool and Die Maker to join a manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for fabricating and troubleshooting tooling and dies. You will work closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to optimize manufacturing processes, ensuring that equipment functions efficiently and that final products meet stringent quality and tolerance standards
Key Responsibilities
- Study blueprints, sketches, and specifications to plan sequences of operations for creating tools, dies, jigs, gauges, and fixtures.
- Set up, program, and operate a variety of tool room equipment.
- File, grind, shim, and fit parts to properly assemble complex dies and tooling.
- Diagnose and repair defective dies, molds, and mechanical components. Conduct test runs to evaluate tooling performance and make necessary alterations.
- Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauge blocks.
- Execute preventive maintenance programs for tooling and keep accurate records of repairs and modifications.
- Follow all safety regulations, maintain equipment, and keep the work area clean and organized.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of documented experience in tool and die making
- Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, CAD models, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, bend, or crouch for extended periods in a manufacturing environment
