What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2nd SHIFT OPERATOR/FORKLIFT position at Minute Men Staffing?
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of the Plant Manager, the operator will work in a variety of positions either in the aluminum building or copper building as needed. This position will work moving material in aluminum, copper or other depending on the need. The operator may also assist the shipping/receiving coordinator to load/unload trucks.
1. Wheels
• Inspect fork truck prior to use and fill out operator sheet
• Move loose/palletized wheels from staging area to sort line
• Move baskets of wheels to ovens, cooling area, shredder as needed
• Move tubs of shred
• Clean up area after processing each load
2. Dust Room
• Move material from one station to the next
• Clean as needed after processing each load
3. Turnings
• Move turnings to assigned bunker
• Bring turnings to process to hopper and process material as designated by type and customer specs
• Move material to bunker or assist in loading on truck
4. Copper Building
• Assist copper supervisor with moving material from truck to appropriate station
• Move material to chop line as needed
• Clean as needed
• Assist with feeding material to chop line

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience
Knowledge and skills at a level normally acquired through the completion of a High School Diploma or equivalent
Licenses/Credentials/Certifications
Fork truck
Skills/Specialized Knowledge/Abilities
Ability to stand and use both hands to move material for a 10 hour period
Good motor skills and the ability to work in a physically demanding environment.
- At least 1 year experience on a fork truck
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Working Hours/Environment
Typical hours are 5PM-5AM, 45-50 work hours per week 100% of work is in the plant environment.
Tools and Equipment Used
Hand tools (wrenches, pliers, hammer) and cleaning tools (broom, shovels, rakes, vacuums), fork truck
Physical & Mental Demands
Ability to work for long periods of time outdoors at all times of the year
Ability to safely operate equipment
Repetitive moderate lifting up to 50 lbs and some heavy lifting (>50 lbs)
Required PPE: safety glasses, steel toed shoes, ear protection and respiratory protection (dust mask).
Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination
Ability to speak to and hear employees in person
Body motor skills sufficient to enable incumbent to move around the plant environment
