Position Summary:
The Sales Manager – Field Sales is responsible for leading and managing, in partnership with local Market Managers, a team of field sales representatives focused on selling commercial staffing and workforce solutions across the Midwest region. This position plays a critical role in driving regional growth by building a high-performance sales team, identifying strategic opportunities, and securing new client partnerships in core industrial markets such as warehousing, distribution, logistics, and manufacturing.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Lead development and execution of regional sales strategies focused on industrial markets within the Midwest
- Define and drive field sales goals, performance KPIs, and daily activity expectations
- Analyze local market dynamics in cities like Columbus, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, Chicago, and Detroit to guide prospecting focus
Team Development & Leadership
- Hire, onboard, and develop field sales reps with strong B2B selling capabilities
- Conduct joint field visits and provide ongoing coaching on prospecting, presentations, pricing, and solution positioning
- Manage daily sales operations, including pipeline health, CRM discipline, and proposal development
Client Acquisition & Growth
- Support reps in targeting, presenting to, and closing medium-to-large industrial staffing accounts
- Partner with operations and recruiting teams to ensure solutions meet client expectations
- Support sales presentations and negotiations for enterprise or on-site staffing programs, which will be led by our VP of Strategic Growth
Performance Oversight
- Drive accountability through weekly sales meetings, 1:1 coaching, and quarterly performance reviews
- Monitor key sales metrics: appointments set, new accounts opened, gross margin added, and revenue delivered
- Provide detailed monthly sales forecasts and territory updates to Market and Senior leadership
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of B2B sales experience with 2 years leading field sales teams in staffing or workforce solutions
- Deep knowledge of commercial/light industrial staffing (e.g., warehouse, logistics, manufacturing)
- Demonstrated success in managing sales performance across multi-state regions
- Strong presentation, negotiation, and pipeline management skills
- Comfortable with travel across the Midwest region (up to 50%)
- Proficient in CRM (Salesforce, Avionte, Bullhorn, etc.) and Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience selling in Midwest metro areas such as Columbus, Indianapolis, Chicago, or Detroit
- Background in developing or managing on-site staffing programs
- Understanding of VMS/MSP client environments and enterprise sales cycles
