The following county has a vacancy for a Human Resources Consultant, Human Services of Faribault & Martin County. Deadline to apply 5/19/2026. Faribault and Martin salary range for this position is $30.91 - $42.04 per hour. Entry salary rate is $30.91 - $33.72.
Under limited supervision, the Human Resources Consultant performs advanced-level professional human resources work in support of county departments and programs. This positions service as a strategic partner and subject matter expert in one or more functional areas, including recruitment and selection, employee and labor relations, classification and compensation, training and development, and policy interpretation.
Provides consultation and guidance to supervisors and managers on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, workplace conflict, and interpretation of personnel policies and labor agreements.
Leads and coordinates the recruitment and selection processes, including job postings, screening applicants, developing interview materials, participating in interviews, and ensuring equitable and compliant hiring practices.
Conducts workplace investigations related to employee complaints, policy violations, and misconduct, gathers and analyzes information, documents findings, and makes recommendations for resolution.
Administers and supports classification and compensation activities, including job analysis, position evaluations, and market comparisons to ensure internal equity and external competitiveness.
Administers and coordinates employee benefit and leave programs, including health and retirement plans and legally mandated leaves.
Develops, coordinates, and delivers training programs for employees and supervisors on topics such as policies and procedures, respectful workplace practices, performance management, and legal compliance.
Interprets and ensures compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, county policies, and collective bargaining agreements; assists in policy development and implementation.
MN Merit System Minimum Qualifications- Master’s degree in human resources, business administration or closely related degree and two years of professional human resource experience in labor relations, classification, recruitment, applicant screening.
OR
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources or business administration or closely related field and three years of professional human resource experience in labor relations, classification, recruitment, applicant screening.
OR
- Associate’s degree in human resources or business administration or closely related field and five years of professional human resource experience in labor relations, classification, recruitment, applicant screening.
Note: Experience can be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis.
