Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor CNC plasma cutting machines, ensuring precise cuts according to detailed blueprints and technical drawings
- Program CNC plasma equipment using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) files, CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing) software, and CNC controls to optimize cutting paths and productivity
- Read and interpret blueprints, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and technical specifications to ensure accurate fabrication of parts
- Perform routine maintenance on CNC machinery, including calibration and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Use precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and other tools to verify dimensions and quality of finished parts
- Handle materials safely using forklifts and other materials handling equipment; prepare raw materials for cutting operations
- Conduct quality control checks throughout the process to meet manufacturing standards, documenting any deviations or issues
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC plasma cutting machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming, including familiarity with CNC controls and CAM programming software
- Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T specifications accurately
- Mechanical aptitude with understanding of tooling, fabrication processes, press brake machines, CNC milling machines, lathes, stamping presses, welding techniques, and related machinery
- Ability to operate forklifts safely; forklift certification is preferred but not mandatory
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations, and adjustments during machining processes
- Factory or manufacturing facility experience demonstrating familiarity with assembly lines, packaging, materials handling, and warehouse procedures
- Strong attention to detail combined with excellent problem-solving skills; proactive in maintaining safety standards and quality control measures
