Position: Legal Assistant
Location: Trenton, NJ
Job Summary:
The Senior Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive secretarial and paralegal support in a legal environment. This role involves preparing, reviewing, and managing legal documents and case files with accuracy, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transcribe and type legal dictation accurately.
- Prepare and proofread legal briefs, pleadings, and correspondence.
- Verify citations and legal references for accuracy and completeness.
- Draft affidavits, pleadings, and other legal documents.
- Maintain and organize confidential case files and electronic records.
- Schedule meetings, manage calendars, and coordinate logistics.
- Assist in case preparation, including summarizing depositions and preparing exhibits.
- Handle administrative tasks such as filing, mail distribution, and client communication.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proficiency in legal transcription, document preparation, and proofreading.
- Strong knowledge of legal terminology and procedures.
- Experience with case management and litigation support.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and document management systems.
- Paralegal training or equivalent experience preferred.
Job Type: Contract
