About the Position:
Fields Howell LLP is seeking an intelligent, proactive Legal Assistant to support its new Yardley, PA office location. This role offers an excellent opportunity to join a growing location.
Responsibilities:
- Assist a team of attorneys with proofreading, document management, calendaring, and drafting correspondence
- Contact courts to check dockets and calendar applicable deadlines
- Prepare document shells for reports, memos, and pleadings in accordance with client and court guidelines
- Reconcile credit card statements and attorney expenses; coordinate with the accounting department to ensure proper billing
- Occasionally coordinate travel arrangements and reservations for attorneys and clients
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Associate degree from an accredited college or university
- 3–5 years of professional experience in a law firm or legal environment
- Highly detail-oriented and organized
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with a professional demeanor
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Willingness to learn new technology and systems (document management, e-filing, e-discovery, etc.)
- Ability to work independently, manage a high-volume workload, and meet deadlines
- Paralegal certificate or pre-law degree preferred but not required
