Japanese Interpreter

Role Description

This is a on-demand hybrid role that can be done remotely. US-based is preferred. The Interpreter will be responsible for providing interpretation services for various clients including schools, healthcare, and non-profit organizations. Day-to-day tasks include facilitating communication between non-English speaking community members and service providers, managing interpretation schedules, and maintaining accurate records of interpretation sessions. The Interpreter will work closely with clients to ensure that communication is effective and culturally appropriate.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in two or more languages, with strong interpretation skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the target language
• Ability to manage schedules and keep accurate records
• Familiarity with cultural nuances and sensitivity to cultural differences
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse populations
• Experience in interpretation within schools, healthcare, government, or non-profit sectors is a plus
• Flexibility to work both on-site in the Portland Metro Area, and remotely is preferred
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or relevant certification in interpretation
