Role: Sr. Financial Crimes Compliance Consultant
Location: Charlotte, NC
Hybrid: 3 Days in the office
Contract: 6 Months with possibilities of extension

Job Description:
- Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of enterprise-wide Financial Crimes programs including AML, KYC, Fraud, Sanctions, and Transaction Monitoring.
- Provide strategic advisory to executive leadership on emerging financial crime risks, regulatory trends, and required enhancements to the bank’s risk management framework.
- Oversee design and execution of risk assessments, control testing, model validations, and effectiveness reviews across all financial crimes domains.
- Serve as a subject matter expert interfacing with regulators, auditors, and law enforcement agencies, ensuring timely responses and accurate documentation.
- Drive continuous improvement of AML and fraud detection systems, including rule tuning, data quality enhancements, and technology modernization initiatives.
- Lead investigations of high-risk activities, suspicious transactions, and escalated customer reviews, ensuring proper reporting (SAR/STR) and remediation.
- Partner with compliance, operations, technology, and business lines to strengthen controls, address gaps, and ensure alignment with regulatory expectations (e.g., BSA/AML, OFAC).
- Mentor and manage financial crimes teams, providing leadership, training, and guidance to foster a high-performing, risk-aware culture across the organization.
