Warehouse/Shipping (Entry Level - SUMMER HELP)

Milwaukee Valve Company is looking for an Entry Level Warehouse/Shipping laborer to join our New Berlin, WI team in Department 721. The starting wage for this position is $21.15 per hour. This position is responsible for learning all basic operations of the distribution center. 

All offers of employment by Milwaukee Valve Company, LLC. are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Milwaukee Valve Company will provide instructions for completing all required post-offer screenings within the designated timeframe.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities to which competency will be measured include the following:

• Ability to learn how to use of all company lift trucks correctly and safely (restricted to employees 18 years of age, and older).
• Ability to learn to enter and retrieve data from the computer system.
• Ability to learn how to stock domestic product correctly.
• Ability to identify and match product numbers from Pick slip(s) to cartons in location.
• Ability to pull product from location in a timely manner. (2.50 minutes a line item)
• Must have above average mathematical skills.
• Must have above average handwriting skills.
• Must be able to work at heights of 16’ to 20’ (restricted to employees 18 years of age, and older).
• Must be able to consistently bend and lift packages weighing on average 50lb.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to self-motivate.
• Maintain cleanliness in a prescribed manner.

Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement, using whole numbers, common factions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw interpret bar graphs.

Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

The employee must stand or walk 100% of the shift. Frequent bending and lifting up to 50 lb. repeatedly during shift. Must have above average manual dexterity. Requires ability to bend, climb, crawl, push and pull frequently during shift. The employee must have ability to work at 16’ to 20’ foot altitudes are restricted to employees 18 years of age or older, in accordance with safety regulations.
