Duties

• Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm, providing detailed descriptions of dishes and drinks.
• Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable, ensuring all special requests are noted.
• Serve food and drinks promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and cleanliness.
• Upsell menu items including wines, spirits, cocktails, and specialty dishes to enhance guest satisfaction and increase sales.
• Process cash transactions accurately, handle credit card payments, and manage POS systems efficiently.
• Maintain a clean and organized service station, including bussing tables and resetting for new guests.
• Provide excellent guest relations by addressing questions about menu items, dietary restrictions, or special requests with professionalism and enthusiasm.

Requirements

• Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments with a focus on fine dining or casual dining settings.
• Strong knowledge of POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable; previous experience with drink service and sales transaction processing is preferred.
• Culinary experience or food industry background is highly desirable to better understand menu offerings and food safety standards.
• Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tables efficiently during busy hours.
• Knowledge of wine, spirits, cocktail preparation, and beverage service techniques.
• Ability to perform basic math accurately for processing payments and giving correct change.
• Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude that fosters guest satisfaction and loyalty.
• Food handling certification or knowledge of sanitation practices is a plus; previous host/hostess or cashiering experience is beneficial.
