Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for an Athletic Trainer based in Jackson, MS. The Athletic Trainer will be responsible for providing comprehensive athletic training services, including injury prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation for student-athletes. Day-to-day tasks include collaborating with coaches and other staff, maintaining detailed records, assisting with strength and conditioning programs, and implementing plans for safe athletic performance and recovery. The role supports the overall health and well-being of Millsaps College's athletic teams.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Athletic Training from a CAATE-accredited program in accordance with current BOC certification requirements, Master’s degree preferred.
- NATA BOC certified; Mississippi Athletic Trainer License (or eligible to obtain license)
- Active CPR/First Aid Certification
- Experience in collegiate setting preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to promote a positive team environment and cultivate good morale
- Highly organized, creative problem-solver who takes initiative.
- Must communicate effectively with all types of people and establish and maintain a strong working relationship with students, parents, alumni, faculty, staff, and other college personnel. Must have the ability to work responsibly with minimal supervision.
- Must have knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations.
