Job Summary

Mill’s Concrete is looking for an organized, dependable, and motivated Project Engineer to support our concrete construction projects from planning through completion.

This position works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and customers to help keep projects organized, on schedule, and properly documented.

Previous experience as a Project Engineer or in a similar construction role is a strong advantage, but it is not required. We are looking for someone who has construction experience, knowledge of construction processes, or a strong understanding of how construction projects operate.

Experience in concrete construction is preferred but not required.

Because we have both English- and Spanish-speaking employees, bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and coordination of concrete construction projects.
• Work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field crews.
• Review project plans, specifications, drawings, and project documents.
• Help coordinate schedules, materials, equipment, and project needs.
• Track project progress and communicate updates to management and field leadership.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation.
• Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project-related documents.
• Coordinate with suppliers, subcontractors, general contractors, and other project partners.
• Help identify potential project issues and communicate them before they create delays.
• Assist with quantity takeoffs, project tracking, and cost-related documentation.
• Maintain accurate records for assigned projects.
• Attend project and coordination meetings as needed.
• Help ensure field teams have the information and resources needed to complete their work.
• Communicate professionally with customers, contractors, employees, and management.
• Assist with project closeout and required documentation.
• Perform other project-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Construction experience or knowledge of construction processes is preferred.
• Previous Project Engineer, Project Coordinator, or similar experience is a strong plus.
• Concrete or commercial construction experience is preferred.
• Ability to read or learn to read construction plans and specifications.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Good attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, email, and other technology.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• Dependable and able to follow through on responsibilities.
• Willingness to learn and grow within the position.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred, but not required.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate is someone who is organized, proactive, communicates well, and understands construction.

Previous Project Engineer experience would be a major advantage, but we are also interested in candidates who have worked in construction and are ready to grow into a project-focused role.
