Our client is looking for an Assistant Controller to support the day-to-day accounting and financial operations of the company while helping ensure accurate and timely financial reporting. This role will supervise two accountants and work closely with leadership on month-end close, reporting, budgeting, and process improvements.

Responsibilities
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close process, including account reconciliations and financial statement preparation
- Help maintain accurate general ledger activity and ensure compliance with accounting policies and procedures
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities in partnership with operational leaders
- Review financial data and assist with analysis for management reporting
- Assist with preparation for annual audits and support external auditors as needed
- Support tax filings, compliance reporting, and other routine accounting functions
- Supervise and mentor two accountants, providing guidance and support in daily responsibilities
- Help prioritize workloads and improve efficiency within the accounting function
- Assist in developing and improving accounting processes, controls, and reporting tools
- Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership teams to support business objectives
- Contribute to ongoing system improvements and automation initiatives within accounting and finance
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- CPA required
- 5 years of accounting experience with some supervisory or leadership exposure
- Experience with month-end close and financial reporting
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal controls
- Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Construction or project-based accounting experience is a plus
