Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Own and manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure completeness and compliance with GAAP
- Prepare and review financial statements, variance analyses, and management reports to support business decision-making
- Establish, maintain, and continuously improve internal controls over financial reporting
- Lead efforts to document, standardize, and optimize accounting processes, including support for ERP system implementations or conversions
- Identify and drive process improvements to enhance efficiency, scalability, and reporting capabilities
- Support external and internal audits, ensuring compliance with regulatory and company requirements
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis initiatives
- Act as a key contributor on time-sensitive projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Proactively communicate financial risks, issues, and key insights to the Controller and leadership team
- Review work performed by accounting staff; provide coaching, training, and ongoing development support
- Serve as a subject matter expert for system enhancements and process changes
- Act as backup to the Controller, providing leadership support as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support overall accounting and finance operations
Required Skills & Abilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting requirements
- Demonstrated success managing and improving the month-end close process
- Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining internal controls and accounting procedures
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, complex formulas, financial modeling)
- Ability to interpret financial data and present insights clearly to leadership
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion with confidential information
- Process-driven mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting
- Prior experience reviewing or supervising accounting staff preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and system implementations or conversions preferred
- Construction accounting, job costing, or WIP experience preferred
Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
