POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Manager is responsible for project development, estimating, and project coordination. This position requires a high degree of maturity, ethics and professionalism to ensure the control of the company’s expenditures. The Project Manager is responsible for managing projects from inception to completion.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Develop and manage the project ensuring strict adherence to company policies regarding contractor selection.
- Meet with customer representatives, architects, and engineers to establish project requirements, specifications, and schedules.
- Monitor and maintain construction project schedule.
- Serve as a liaison between MZ, contractors and MZ customers.
- Enforce contractual requirements.
- Review and approve all change orders.
- Execute all contract documents.
- Build relationships with Subcontractors and Installation Crews.
- Schedule Sub Contractors.
- Schedule Crews.
- Train Crews and Subcontractors.
- Create project specific installation manuals.
- Manage project specific reporting, completion and closeout.
- Manage Subcontractor Invoicing/Customer Billing (where applicable).
- Estimate Projects.
- Order Equipment.
- Implementation of an effective project management strategy.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in commercial retail construction management.
Special Skills/Qualifications:
- Must function well in a fast-paced environment with high energy and a high sense of urgency, Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to handle multiple, high priority projects simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills. Thorough knowledge and understanding of installation practices and techniques.
- Ability to prepare project documentation and direct project meetings.
- Strong analytical and planning skills.
- Proficient with MS Project and Outlook.
- Must be able to read floor plans and construction documents.
ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS: The incumbent will never be exposed to toxins, chemicals, detergents, and extreme temperatures (30degrees F – 115 degrees F), dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, x-ray/electromagnetic energy, high pitched noises, Communicable diseases, or gases. The incumbent will spend approximately 80% of their time indoors.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: SEDENTARY WORK: Lifting 40 lbs. maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying articles.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to lift and/or push up to 40 pounds with mechanical assistance. This position requires stooping, kneeling, bending, manual dexterity, repetitive hand and arm coordination, finger dexterity, vision acuity both far and near with depth perception. The incumbent will sit 50% of the time and stand/walk 50% of the time.
