Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will report directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and will be responsible for various functions in the Accounting Department.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Play a critical role in the monthly close, ensuring ownership over assigned areas
- Prepare month end accrual entries
- Reconcile and record intercompany journal entries
- Maintain various schedules including prepaid expenses, fixed assets, etc.
- Assist with the preparation of journal entries for general ledger reconciliation
- Accounts payable, cash, and other account reconciliations
- Ensure account reconciliations are prepared in a timely manner
- Apply customer receipts and credits
- Clear cash transactions
- Handle special projects and hands-on ad hoc requests outside the day-to-day operations
- Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources and procedures, provide strategic recommendations and maintain solutions to business and financial problems
Qualifications & Experience
- 1-3 years of accounting experience
- Associate degree in Accounting required, bachelor’s degree in accounting preferred
- Extensive knowledge of accruals, schedule creation and maintenance
- Experience with Clients in the Service Industry
- Excellent analytical skills
- Working knowledge of general ledger systems (Sage Intacct or comparable program preferred)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.). Must have expertise in Pivot Tables, Conditional Sum, V-Lookup functions, etc.
