Job Summary

Registered Nurse needed within the Operating Room department to provide perioperative care to surgical patients across recovery, procedure, and operating rooms. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM, 36 hours/week.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide surgical patients with perioperative care in recovery, procedure, and operating rooms
• Stock operating rooms with sterile surgical equipment, linens, and supplies
• Develop and implement nursing care plans for surgical patients
• Prepare patients for surgery by cleaning and disinfecting areas to be operated on
• Assist surgeons during surgical procedures
• Apply sterile techniques in handling medical instruments and equipment pre-, during, and post-surgery
• Collaborate with surgical teams and other medical professionals on patient medication and post-surgery care
• Update patient files and medical records
• Assist with ordering, maintenance, and safe storage of surgical equipment and supplies
• Provide patients with post-surgery care instructions and answer questions
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of recent OB/Periop OR experience
• Surgical/Periop experience required, specifically: C-sections, D&C, PPTL, D&E

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact license, if applicable to RI)
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• CNOR certification - preferred (confirm if required by unit)
• Flu vaccine required
• COVID-19 vaccine required — no exemptions
