Job Summary

Registered Nurse needed within the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to provide round-the-clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants. Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 PM-7:30 AM (3 days/12 hours), 36 hours/week. EMR: EPIC required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide round-the-clock care to premature and severely ill newborn infants
• Care for basic infant needs (feeding, changing diapers)
• Use and adjust specialized medical equipment
• Formulate nursing plans and evaluate treatment effectiveness
• Comfort ill newborns and anxious parents/family members
• Support and educate parents/family members on at-home newborn care
  
  

Experience

• Minimum 1-2 years of recent NICU experience (Level II/III — confirm which applies to this unit)
• Vent/high-acuity neonate experience - preferred

• Neonatal critical care and specialized equipment operation
• Nursing care planning and treatment evaluation
• Family support and patient education
• EPIC EMR proficiency
  
  

Eligibility & Qualifications

• Active RN license (or compact license, if applicable to RI)
• BLS certification (AHA) required
• NRP certification required
• STABLE certification - preferred (confirm if required by unit)
• Flu vaccine required
• COVID-19 vaccine required — no exemptions
