Millbury Federal Credit Union seeks to fill the position of Universal Banker to join their winning team
Location: Auburn, MA
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, including some Saturday
Position Summary: Reports to the AVP - Branch Manager but also supervised by the Assistant Branch Manager or assignee. The Universal Banker I is an essential part of the branch team and assists both teller line and platform personnel by conducting teller transactions, maintaining a cash drawer (with auxiliary responsibilities in opening and maintaining accounts), being well-versed in MCU’s products and services, and actively sharing their knowledge with members who may benefit from these opportunities
Primary Responsibilities
- Demonstrate exceptional member service skills both on the phone and in person.
- Accurately handle cash. Administer deposits, withdrawals, payments, checks, and other monetary service transactions.
- Maintain and reconcile an individual cash drawer. Support team in balancing branch.
- Be well-versed in MCU’s products and services. Ask discovery questions to identify cross-selling opportunities and referrals.
- Adhere to MCU’s policies and procedures and required banking regulations. Complete annual training to maintain knowledge.
- Open and close accounts and ATM / debit cards. Assist members with general account maintenance, electronic banking needs, and routine account-related questions.
- Assist with taking and processing consumer loan applications.
- Assist in community events to increase credit union’s outreach and foster new business opportunities.
- Assume additional responsibilities, as requested.
Education, Knowledge & Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous teller experience preferred; some previous cash handling experience is necessary.
- General understanding of math, computers, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organized, detail-oriented, flexible, able to effectively handle stress and multitask.
- Ability to work independently and function as a team player.
- Displays a high level of confidentiality and tact.
