SR. UNIVERSAL BANKER (III)
Location: Millbury Federal Credit Union - 117B Stafford St., Worcester, MA 01603
Work Schedule: Full Time, Monday - Friday including rotating Saturday shifts working 8:30a-12:15pm.
Summary: Reporting to the Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager, or assignee, the Senior Universal Banker (III) is the acting supervisor in the absence of the Assistant Vice President/Branch Manager or the Assistant Branch Manager. The incumbent quickly identifies problems, diffuses conflict, and provides solutions for both members and staff. The Senior Universal Banker (III) is well-versed in MCU’s products and services and provides leadership to the branch team in generating business partner referrals and consultative sales. The Senior Universal Banker (III) is also responsible for helping management develop, implement, and monitor new procedure, policy and compliance-related processes, coaching and training of staff, and all tasks related to servicing the Credit Union’s members.
Primary Responsibility:
- Demonstrates exceptional member service skills both on the phone and in-person.
- Perform all types of account maintenance.
- Assess and interpret legal documents including power of attorneys, court appointed fiduciaries, trusts, and representative payees. Process all related transactions according to credit union policy and Federal / State laws.
- Processes, prepares, and closes consumer loans.
- Assists Management team in educating, coaching, and motivating staff to recognize and fulfill branch referrals and sales goals.
- Establishes, develops, and retains relationships with existing and potential members.
- Leads by example. Offers support, guidance, and training to branch team.
- Assists team with managing branch cash flow and reconciliation of the branch, cash vaults, teller cash recycler, ATM, and coin machine. Maintains a cash drawer and / or cash vault as needed.
- Adheres to MCU’s policies and procedures and required banking regulations. Completes annual training to maintain knowledge.
- Displays a high level of confidentiality and tact.
- Assists in community events to increase credit union’s outreach and foster new business opportunities.
- Assumes additional responsibilities as requested.
Knowledge, Skills, Education:
- Excellent member service skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Well organized, detail oriented, flexible, able to effectively handle stress and multitask.
- Capable at working both independently and function as a team player.
- Proven ability to open complex accounts.
- Established proficiency to meet or exceed sales goals.
- Knowledge of Credit Union / banking products and regulations.
- General understanding of math, computers, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Minimum 3 years’ banking experience with proven supervisory experience.
- High School diploma required. Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
