As a Shipping & Receiving Team Lead, you will work closely with the Operations Supervisor to ensure the seamless flow of materials and products through our facility. This position combines hands-on leadership with operational expertise to drive efficiency, accuracy, and safety in all shipping and warehouse activities. You will collaborate with team members on daily workflows, help coordinate team assignments, and maintain compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. Acting as the primary point of contact for warehouse operations, you will foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement while supporting the timely and accurate fulfillment of customer and internal demands.

What will you do in this role?
- Supervision and Leadership
- Lead, train, and mentor a team of shipping and receiving associates.
- Delegate tasks and ensure that staff meet performance expectations.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, updates, and safety protocols.
- Shipping and Receiving Operations:
- Oversee the day-to-day activities of the shipping and receiving department.
- Ensure accurate and timely loading and unloading of trucks.
- Verify and maintain records of all incoming and outgoing shipments.
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers for scheduling deliveries and pickups.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability of stock.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and assist with annual inventory audits.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical counts and recorded inventory.
- Quality Control:
- Implement and enforce quality control procedures to ensure the accuracy of shipments.
- Inspect incoming and outgoing shipments for damage and discrepancies, documenting as necessary.
- Work collaboratively with other departments to resolve any issues related to shipments.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulations.
- Promote a culture of safety and ensure that team members are trained on proper handling techniques and equipment usage.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Reporting and Communication:
- Prepare and maintain reports regarding shipping and receiving activities, inventory accuracy, and team performance.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse management, other departments, and external partners to facilitate smooth operations.
What does it take to be successful in this role?
Basic Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 years’ experience in a production warehouse, distribution, or shipping/receiving environment.
- Minimum 2 years Forklift experience
- Proficiency with computerized inventory management systems and software
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal abilities
- Demonstrated knowledge of safety practices, material handling, and load-securement.
- Physical stamina and ability to lift and move heavy objects
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Prior experience in a leadership capacity in a warehouse environment.
- Experience driving 5S/Lean initiatives and improving warehouse KPIs.
The physical requirements and work environment:
Work exclusively in the production area requiring long periods of standing, lifting (50#) and repetitive motion. Bending and reaching as needed. Exposed to elevated noise levels throughout work shift.
