MRP is searching for a passionate and agile Press Operator Level 1 which supports our Operations Teams by feeding paper stock into the press machine and working closely with the L3 Operator to produce a printed product in a timely manner and meeting the quality standards of the customer.

While performing the duties of this job, you will work exclusively in the production area, with light and heavy equipment where you stand and walk during your entire shift. Bending and reaching as needed. Exposed to elevated noise levels throughout work shift, hearing protection use is mandatory while in production area.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. This position requires repetitive lifting and bending.
The employee must be able to stand for 10 hours. The employee must be able to regularly lift/or move 50-80 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.

- Ensure that paper stock is correct according to the job ticket and Raw Stock Load Tag; that stock caliper is micrometer checked; and that Raw Stock Load Tag is placed in the job ticket.
- Ensure that plates are pulled from holding area and available for next job.
- Ensure that inks and/or coatings are pulled from storage racks and verified as correct to the ink card.
- Set up feeder properly, as well as double sheet detector, side guide register and the loading of materials.
- Hang plates and change blankets, as assigned by press operator.
- Rule out press sheet and perform die vinyl checks, as required.
- Dispose of make-ready material properly and separate recyclable material, per instructions.
- Assist in maintenance requirements of presses, as scheduled.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements
- Possess a positive, “can do” attitude to learn the job and work in a team environment.
- Possess an ability to work together as a Press Team and embrace how your job impacts the whole team. You are the person “behind the scenes” making it happen.
- Can accept feedback and use it to grow in your position.
- Must have basic computer skills or the ability to learn basic skills, including the ability to type on a keyboard, use a mouse, enter passwords, open and close programs, and start and shut-down a computer.
- Excellent endurance to stand and move about the work area all day.
- GED or High School Equivalent
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment or job requiring physical work

- Demonstrated work experience where you had to be mechanically inclined to learn and troubleshoot machines.
