Key Responsibilities:
- Supplier Management:
- Identify and evaluate potential suppliers.
- Obtain multiple quotes for each purchase requirement to ensure competitive pricing.
- Negotiate prices, terms, and contracts with vendors.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with key suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance to ensure quality and delivery standards.
- Procurement Process:
- Generate and process purchase orders in a timely manner.
- Review and analyze purchase requisitions and coordinate with departments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Ensure that all procurement activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Inventory Management:
- Monitor inventory levels and manage reorder points to avoid stockouts or overstock situations.
- Track and manage inventory turnover rates and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
- Market Research:
- Stay informed about market trends, new products, and suppliers.
- Conduct market research to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
- Cost Control:
- Obtain and compare multiple quotes for procurement requests to ensure the best value.
- Analyze and compare prices to ensure competitiveness and cost-effectiveness.
- Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and initiatives.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory.
- Prepare and present reports on purchasing activities, trends, and savings opportunities.
- Problem Solving:
- Address and resolve issues related to procurement, such as delays, discrepancies, and quality concerns.
- Implement corrective actions and follow up to ensure resolution.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field preferred.
- Experience: 2 years of experience in a purchasing or procurement role, preferably in a similar industry.
- Skills:
- Strong negotiation and communication abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Experience with ERP systems required; Epicor ERP experience preferred.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
