Position Overview
Midwest Landscape Industries, Inc. (MLI) is seeking a skilled and motivated Irrigation Install/Service Technician to lead and execute irrigation installations across various landscape projects. This role is responsible for all phases of installation—from planning and layout to execution and crew management. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the installation of various irrigation systems, including pipe configurations, wiring, and control systems.
- Supervise and manage a crew of 3–5 team members, ensuring compliance with safety policies and company standards.
- Ensure all crew members are in proper uniform and wearing required PPE (safety glasses, ear protection, boots, etc.).
- Accept and manage materials delivered to job sites.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment—including equipment, trucks, and job sites.
- Operate and haul machinery (trenchers, skid steers, excavators, etc.); CDL preferred but not required.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation challenges, including making on-site design adjustments as needed.
- Read and implement irrigation design drawings with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent MLI with professionalism and integrity.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to ongoing training and improvement efforts.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in irrigation installation, with at least 1 year as a crew foreman or lead.
- Strong knowledge of irrigation system components: sleeves, valves, piping, head placement, wiring, and controllers.
- Experience with major irrigation brands and systems.
- Skilled in operating trenchers, skid steers, trailers, and various power tools.
- Ability to read and interpret irrigation plans and make field modifications as necessary.
- Certified Irrigation Technician (CIT) a plus.
- Reliable, team-oriented, and safety-focused.
Compensation & Job Type
Job Type: Full-Time
Pay: $19.00 – $25.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
