Position Overview
The Director of Housing and Residence Life is responsible for cultivating a safe, supportive, and engaging residential experience for students. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills and a strong commitment to student success.
This role assists the Vice President of Athletics and Student Affairs with administrative functions related to the student conduct process and plays a key role in addressing student concerns and behaviors outside the classroom. In addition, the Director serves as the University’s Accommodations Coordinator, overseeing the collection and processing of all ADA accommodation requests.
This position supervises two professional live-in Resident Coordinators and 11 Resident Assistants, and collaborates closely with Student Affairs colleagues, Campus Security, the Business Office, Campus Dining, and Facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee all managerial aspects of the housing and residence life program, including room and board billing, occupancy tracking and reporting, housing assignments, exemptions, and room changes.
- Provide comprehensive leadership for residence life programming and events—supporting Hall Directors and Resident Assistants in fostering an inclusive, engaging living and learning environment aligned with broader campus initiatives.
- Serve as a primary Student Affairs liaison to Facilities and Campus Dining, including addressing maintenance and custodial concerns and coordinating student meal plans.
- Act as a disciplinary hearing officer for residence life policy violations and proactively address concerns within campus housing.
- Serve as the University’s Accommodations Coordinator, collecting, reviewing, and processing all ADA accommodation requests.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree and at least two years of professional housing experience, or a degree in college student personnel, higher education, or a related field.
- Ability to obtain CPR and AED certification.
- Ability to become and remain an approved University driver.
- Ability to detect noise or community disturbances within residence halls.
- This position requires regular evening and weekend hours.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in college student personnel, higher education, or a related field.
- Five years of progressive housing and residence life experience.
