Description
Midway University, located 14 miles outside Lexington, KY, is seeking an energetic full-time Head Coach to lead our Women’s Volleyball program, a program committed to academic excellence, student-athlete development and competitive growth. This vacancy follows an internal transfer. This is a full-time, 12-month position that reports to the Vice President of Athletics and Student Affairs. The head coach will provide leadership in the planning, operation and execution of the program.
Key responsibilities include the following:
- Recruiting to achieve roster goals, competitive success, and academic performance in accordance with admissions procedures and scholarship requirements.
- Organizing, scheduling, and leading daily practice sessions, game plan preparation and strategy, competitions, and off-season training.
- Coordinating travel arrangements for away contests.
- Ensuring full compliance with Midway University, River States Conference and NAIA rules and regulations.
- Guiding student athletes in their academic development and reinforcing expectations for discipline and sportsmanship.
- Hiring, supervising, and evaluating assistant coach and program volunteers.
- Budgeting, fundraising, promoting and marketing the program.
- Secondary roles will be assigned based on skill set and institutional need by the Vice-President of Athletics and Student Affairs.

- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
- Demonstrated volleyball experience required, with collegiate-level head or assistant coaching experience preferred
- Proven recruiting success and ability to build strong relationships with prospective student-athletes
- Experience with fundraising, alumni relations, and community engagement
- Strong communication, organizational, interpersonal and time management skills.
