MidPoint is a national technology integrator based in Columbia, MD. We are a central hub for technology integration the AV, structured cabling, electronic security, data center, and IT spaces. We have been in operation since 2014, and despite being the #1 fastest growing tech company in MD for the last two years running – our goal in any market is not to be the biggest company, but to be the best.
We are looking for a detail-oriented Jr CAD Drafter to support our commercial enterprise divisions. This would be an in-person role focused on high volume CAD drawing production utilizing AutoDesk. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, and looking to learn and grow with a quickly growing company.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting & Documentation: Prepare detailed floor plans, riser diagrams, schematics, and rack layouts for low voltage systems (structured cabling, electronic security, AV).
- Collaboration: Work with engineers, project managers, and field technicians to develop and refine designs from concept to completion.
- Design Adaptation: Incorporate redline markups, field changes, and design revisions accurately and efficiently.
- Code Compliance: Ensure drawings meet industry standards (BICSI, TIA/EIA, NEC) and local building codes.
- Project Support: Produce drawing packages for submittals, permits, and final as-built documentation.
- Quality Control: Review drawings for accuracy, completeness, and adherence to standards.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Software Proficiency: Strong skills in AutoCAD
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of low voltage systems, pathways, and equipment are a plus
- Reading Plans: Ability to interpret architectural, electrical, and construction drawings.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication, teamwork, attention to detail, and organizational skills.
Salary : $55,000 - $60,000
