Preschool Lead Teacher

Overview

Duties

• Develop and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with early childhood standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods where applicable
• Lead daily classroom activities that promote active learning, creativity, and social skills among preschool children
• Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques
• Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress, address concerns, and foster collaborative relationships
• Supervise and mentor assistant teachers and support staff to ensure high-quality instruction and classroom management
• Ensure compliance with mandated reporting laws, health and safety regulations, including first aid and CPR protocols
• Conduct ongoing assessments of child development progress using standardized testing tools and tailor instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with specialists in special education and early intervention to support children with diverse needs
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, developmental milestones, lesson plans, and incident reports
• Foster an inclusive environment that respects cultural diversity and promotes child welfare

Requirements

• Proven experience working with children in preschool or daycare settings with a strong understanding of childhood development principles
• Demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques
• Knowledge of special education practices, early intervention strategies, and behavior management approaches
• Familiarity with Montessori methods, literacy education, math instruction, and physical education for young children
• Valid certification in first aid and CPR; ongoing professional development preferred
• Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, colleagues, and community partners
• Ability to adhere to mandated reporting laws and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Experience teaching physical education or tutoring young learners is a plus
• Strong organizational skills to manage classroom activities, documentation, and assessments effectively
• Passion for early childhood education with a commitment to fostering a safe, nurturing learning environment

Pay: $18.25 per hour
