POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Diagnostic Imaging plans, directs and supervises all technical aspects of the Diagnostic Imaging Services across the system. Recommends and suggest to the radiologists possible equipment modifications, new equipment purchases, and essential construction within these departments. Assists in planning the budgets and the development of department policies and procedures. Is directly responsible for the maintenance of the existing equipment and such contractual services as may be required. Coordinates departmental purchasing and is responsible for stock levels, storage and utilization of same. Acknowledges and responds appropriately to the hospital’s customer relations philosophy, including the five fundamentals of the AIDET program.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging directs all departmental activity to assure a coordinated effort to fulfill departmental responsibilities within the long range plan of the hospital. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging directs and supervises the operations of the Department to ensure the quality of services.
2. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging assigns daily staffing for all areas in order to accommodate patient needs in a timely manner.
3. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging maintains accurate patient records, documents and billing information.
4. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging performs basic patient care duties within the departments.
5. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging approves programs and plans for the department.
6. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for maintaining established Technical Radiologic safety standards. May act as R.S.O. if approved by the Texas Department of Health-BRC.
7. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging is responsible for investigating and reporting requirements for expansion projects and equipment additions and maintenance.
8. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging accepts responsibility for maintaining licenses and improving staff competency.
9. The Director of Diagnostic Imaging demonstrates knowledge and skill in meeting age related needs for the neonate to adolescent, adult, geriatric, mentally ill and handicapped patients.
10. Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Education A.R.R.T. (M.R.T.) with 3 years of supervisory and multi-modality experience. A.S.R.T. degree preferred.
