We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Asphalt screed operator to join our paving crew. Duties
- Operate paving equipment such as pavers, screeds, and bituminous materials accurately according to project specifications.
- Maintain and troubleshoot construction machinery to ensure optimal performance, adhering to safety regulations and manufacturer guidelines.
- Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns during operations.
- Follow DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations and safety protocols diligently while working on public infrastructure projects.
- Coordinate with the team to ensure proper placement of screeds and other paving components for smooth surface finishes.
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge with experience in construction machinery maintenance and repair is preferred.
- Proven ability to operate asphalt paver screed. 1 year experience preferred.
- Familiarity with working on civil infrastructure projects involving asphalt paving and construction.
- Knowledge of bituminous materials, paving jobsite tasks, and screed operation.
- Ability to perform basic math calculations related to measurements and material quantities accurately.
- Understanding of safety regulations including OSHA standards, DOT regulations, and site-specific safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and supervisors on project progress and safety concerns.
