The Position
The Data Utilization & Visualization Analyst turns data into meaningful insights by designing and delivering end-to-end data solutions that enable smarter decisions across the organization. This role leads our data literacy program — building curriculum, delivering dynamic training, and supporting confident data use. It partners closely with leaders and staff to understand real business challenges, transforming them into high impact Tableau dashboards, reports, and self-service data sources using advanced SQL and analytical best practices. It champions exceptional visualization standards, collaborates with the BI team on strategic initiatives, and contributes to a culture of learning, improvement, and shared insight across Mid America Transplant.
The position reports to the Director of Business Intelligence and Performance Excellence and provides the opportunity to collaborate with four additional Business Intelligence professionals as well as leaders and staff from throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do
- Collaborates with leaders and staff to understand their business processes and problems, translating them into reliable, efficient and user-friendly data solutions.
- Creates, enhances, and automates high‑value Tableau reports, dashboards and scorecards that enable strategic and operational decision‑making.
- Delivers end to end data solutions - from requirements gathering and feature design to advanced SQL development, testing, deployment, and continuous improvement.
- Identifies the data literacy and data utilization training needs of leaders and staff—including capabilities in data understanding and validation, data transformation, analysis (including descriptive statistics), visualization and insight generation.
- Designs, enhances, and implements a comprehensive data literacy and data utilization training framework—including plans and curriculum—in alignment with Mid America Transplant’s strategic objectives.
- Delivers data literacy and data utilization training tailored to the learning needs represented in the organization, using both formal and informal formats, multiple group sizes, and diverse delivery methods (online, in person, synchronous, and asynchronous).
- Elevates and implements data visualization standards to optimize utilization, enhance storytelling and generate actionable insights.
- Shares data‑driven insights, ideas and recommendations with leaders and staff, helping teams translate findings into action.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
- At least three years of experience developing Tableau dashboards, leveraging custom SQL queries as data sources
- At least three years of experience providing training and/or education to adult learners
- At least three years of experience developing and strengthening collaborative relationships with colleagues, customers and other stakeholders
- Advanced-level SQL, including query optimization
- Solid understanding of descriptive statistics, including measures of central tendency, variation, distributions, and probability
- Solid analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently while upholding core values of excellence, innovation, stewardship, collaboration, integrity, and compassion
