We’re expanding our team and looking for two new Clinical Sales Specialist – Oncology & Precision Medicine Controls to support continued growth in our oncology portfolio. These are newly created roles — one with a focus on the East U.S. Territory and one focused on the West U.S. Territory.
Each role brings a true hunter mindset and direct oncology market experience. These are front-line growth positions focused on building pipeline, winning new business, and expanding share within oncology, molecular diagnostics, and precision medicine accounts.
You’ll partner closely with the Clinical Sales Manager while owning prospecting, opportunity development, and account conversion across clinical labs, reference labs, cancer centers, and biotech organizations. At Microbiologics, you will:
- Focus exclusively on oncology and precision medicine markets, including molecular diagnostics, genomics, and high-complexity laboratory environments.
- Own new account development and competitive conversions within a defined territory.
- Sell a differentiated portfolio of oncology quality controls supporting NGS, qPCR, ddPCR, liquid biopsy, and variant detection workflows.
- Lead consultative sales conversations with laboratory leaders, molecular pathologists, and oncology stakeholders.
- Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product Management, R&D, and Technical Services to move opportunities forward and bring customer insights back to the business.
What You’ll Do
New Business & Territory Growth
- Drive revenue growth by prospecting, developing, and closing new opportunities within oncology diagnostics and precision medicine markets.
- Identify and penetrate new accounts across clinical laboratories, cancer centers, reference labs, and biotech organizations.
- Develop and execute territory business plans focused on pipeline creation, opportunity progression, and account conversion.
- Engage and influence key decision-makers including laboratory directors, molecular pathologists, oncology program leaders, and quality managers.
- Apply working knowledge of molecular oncology workflows (NGS, liquid biopsy, variant detection) to position Microbiologics’ QC solutions.
- Translate technical product value into clear business and clinical benefits aligned with customer testing needs.
- Manage multiple, concurrent sales opportunities while navigating complex and often long oncology sales cycles.
- Maintain accurate pipelines, forecasts, and activity tracking in Salesforce.
- Convert competitive opportunities by understanding customer requirements and demonstrating performance, workflow, and compliance advantages.
- Monitor trends within oncology diagnostics, molecular testing, and precision medicine markets.
- Track competitive technologies and evolving regulatory requirements impacting oncology laboratories.
- Partner with internal teams and distributors to advance opportunities and support successful onboarding and adoption.
This role is a strong fit for someone who:
- Brings hands-on experience selling into oncology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, or precision medicine markets.
- Is comfortable prospecting, opening doors, and building new relationships in high-complexity lab environments.
- Enjoys managing long, consultative sales cycles and closing competitive deals.
- Can balance scientific conversations with commercial urgency.
- Is self-directed, organized, and accountable for results.
- Bachelor’s degree in a life science field (molecular biology, genetics, biotechnology, or related discipline) strongly preferred.
- 3–5 years of sales experience with demonstrated success meeting or exceeding sales targets.
- Required: Experience selling into oncology, molecular diagnostics, genomics, or precision medicine markets.
- Preferred experience with NGS, liquid biopsy, qPCR, ddPCR, and high-complexity laboratory workflows.
- Experience supporting CLIA/CAP-regulated laboratories preferred.
- Proficiency with Salesforce (CRM) and Microsoft Office tools.
