What are the responsibilities and job description for the 1st Shift Traffic Coordinator Shipping and Receiving position at Michigan Turkey Producers?
Essential Functions of Role:
Following the organizational mission, this role performs “hands-on” coordination of Export tasks.
- Daily monitor the “FSIS” website for country export requirement changes.
- Assist with development of and maintain country export document set-up procedures.
- Responsible for timely and accurate completion of all Export documentation and labeling in accordance with USDA regulations (including country pre-approvals and Chamber of Commerce documents where applicable)
- Prepare and update the weekly USDA Export schedule.
- Update “Export Recap” spreadsheet.
- Maintain communication with common carriers for efficient and on-time deliveries.
- Work with Customers, Brokers, and Sales in coordinating Export load requirements and delivery dates.
- Support all inter related departmental needs.
- Flexible hours based on workload.
- Back-up other Traffic Coordinator as necessary and required.
- Perform other duties and tasks as assigned by the department Manager.
- Build truck-loads according to customer orders and freights schedule.
- Communicate appropriate shipment information and revisions with 3rd Party warehouse.
- Work with sales in planning local deliveries and inbound freight pick-ups.
- Set up short haul delivery schedules with MTP associates drivers.
- Perform Transfers for CHEP pallets
Qualifications:
- Preferred Associates degree or equivalent education.
- Minimum 5 years experience in transportation and dispatch within the trucking industry.
- Detail Oriented.
- Able to work well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Must be responsible and self motivated.
- Computer skills, utilizing various Microsoft programs; including Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Experience in CRM and TMS applications.
- Must be able to communicate, speak, read, and write fluently in the English language.
