- Previous teaching or curricular experience with first-year engineering students
- Terminal degree in engineering, a related STEM field, or STEM education
- Research in engineering education or a field that supports engagement of undergraduate engineering students
- Ability to engage students in design challenges that incorporate the local environment and community resources
- Advanced computer skills, particularly MATLAB or other programming languages
- 3-D modeling and CAD software skills
- Experience in engineering design
- Experience with microcontrollers, data acquisition and controls
- strong interpersonal skills;
- demonstrated teaching ability; and
- demonstrated ability to work with a variety of students, faculty, and community populations.
