Part Time Physician Assistant (PA-C) - Contract Position

Position Overview

Michelle Thomas, M.D., Inc. is seeking a motivated and professional Physician Assistant (PA-C) to join our growing outpatient primary care and internal medicine practice in Fresno, California. This is a flexible part-time independent contractor opportunity ideal for a provider seeking a collaborative clinical environment with long-term growth potential.

The selected provider will assist with outpatient primary care services, chronic disease management, follow up visits, and patient care coordination in both clinic and assisted living or boarding care settings. This role is designed to begin on a structured part-time basis with opportunity for expanded scheduling as patient volume grows.

This position will initially begin under a three-month trial and evaluation period to ensure mutual compatibility, workflow alignment, and long-term fit within the practice.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and manage adult and geriatric patients
• Conduct follow up visits and chronic care management
• Perform physical assessments and obtain medical histories
• Document patient encounters accurately within EMR system
• Collaborate with supervising physician and clinic staff
• Participate in telehealth visits when appropriate
• Assist with coordination of care in assisted living and boarding care facilities
• Educate patients regarding medications, preventive care, and treatment plans
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA and clinic policies

Schedule

• Part time position
• Initial anticipated schedule: 1 to 2 days per week
• Flexible scheduling based on clinic needs and patient volume
• Opportunity for increased scheduling over time

Compensation

• Independent Contractor (1099) position
• Compensation structure to be discussed during interview process
• Paid biweekly
• No benefits included under contractor arrangement

Qualifications

• Active California Physician Assistant license
• NCCPA certification preferred
• Experience in primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or geriatrics preferred
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work professionally within a collaborative practice environment
• EMR experience preferred
• Reliable transportation for occasional facility visits preferred
