The Vice President of Operations is a senior executive responsible for directing all operational functions across manufacturing, supply chain, quality, logistics, and production execution. This leader owns the full operational lifecycle, from material sourcing and machining through assembly, compliance, and delivery, ensuring the organization produces high‑performance products with exceptional quality, efficiency, and regulatory adherence.

My client is a growing, US Manufacturer of high precision products. They are seeking a strategic, VP of Operations to join their company and lead the scaling of their teams and overall output of products.

Description

The VP of Operations will:

  • Lead all operational functions, including manufacturing, quality, supply chain, logistics, and inventory management.
  • Translate company strategy into actionable operational plans with clear KPIs and accountability.
  • Build and manage high‑performing teams while fostering a culture of safety, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee precision manufacturing operations and drive lean, Six Sigma, and process optimization initiatives.
  • Manage capital equipment planning, automation enhancements, and production flow optimization.
  • Own the operational cost structure and drive reductions in COGS while maintaining product quality.
  • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and capital expenditure plans.
  • Partner with Finance to improve margins and assess ROI on operational investments.
  • Lead sourcing strategy, supplier performance management, and raw material availability.
  • Improve inventory turns, planning accuracy, and working capital utilization.

Profile

A successful VP of Operations should have the following qualifications:

  • 12 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing operations, including senior‑level roles.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or related field required.
  • Background in precision machining, metal fabrication, or regulated production environments; industry‑specific experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated success in scaling operations, implementing lean initiatives, and leading capital investment programs.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing economics, operational KPIs, and cost modeling.
  • Proven ability to lead large, multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and executive decision‑making capabilities.

Salary : $170,000 - $185,000
