About Our Client

My client is a growing, US Manufacturer of high precision products. They are seeking a Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a practical, fast-paced manufacturing setting and brings a strong foundation in mechanical design, precision components, and real-world problem solving.

Job Description

The Mechanical Engineer will:

  • Design and develop firearm components, subassemblies, and accessories using SolidWorks; produce detailed production drawings compliant with ASME Y14.5 (GD&T), perform tolerance stack-ups, and apply DFM/DFA principles.
  • Support new product development from concept through production release, including testing, validation, engineering changes, and continuous product improvement initiatives.
  • Partner directly with machining, finishing, assembly, and quality teams to support production, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions on the manufacturing floor.
  • Develop and improve manufacturing processes, fixtures, and tooling while supporting cost-reduction efforts without compromising quality or performance.
  • Plan and execute functional, durability, and safety testing; analyze data, document results, and support root cause analysis and CAPA activities.
  • Maintain accurate CAD models, drawings, BOMs, and revision control in SolidWorks PDM; participate in design reviews, audits, and cross-functional collaboration with Quality, Supply Chain, Marketing, Customer Service, and suppliers.

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Mechanical Engineer Should Have The Following Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • 3-7 years of mechanical engineering experience in a manufacturing environment; experience in defense, aerospace, automotive, or precision machining preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and a solid working knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5).
  • Hands-on understanding of CNC machining, metal component manufacturing, heat treatment, surface finishing, and assembly processes.
  • Ability to create, interpret, and revise detailed mechanical drawings and technical documentation.
  • Proven analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills with a practical, production-focused mindset.
  • Comfortable working on the factory floor alongside machinists and operators; strong verbal and written communication skills.
