About Our Client

Our client is a nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure consulting organization supporting critical power and utility initiatives across North America. As energy demand continues to increase through grid expansion, electrification, renewable integration, and large-scale infrastructure development, they are growing their Power Delivery team and seeking a Transmission Line Engineer.

Job Description

  • Perform engineering and design activities for overhead transmission line projects ranging from approximately 69kV-765kV
  • Support development of:
    • Route evaluations and line siting support
    • Transmission line plans and profiles
    • Structure spotting and optimization
    • Pole and tower loading analysis
    • Conductor and shield wire selection
    • Sag and tension calculations
    • Foundation loading coordination
    • Construction packages and material development
  • Prepare engineering calculations and technical documentation supporting transmission system design and reliability requirements
  • Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Substation, Environmental, Survey, and Construction teams throughout project execution
  • Support preparation of project schedules, scopes, budgets, and engineering deliverables
  • Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control processes
  • Support procurement activities and technical coordination with vendors and utility stakeholders
  • Communicate project status, risks, and technical recommendations to project leadership and clients
  • Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting technical development across project teams
  • Provide field engineering and construction support as required

The Successful Applicant

A Successful Transmission Line Engineer Should Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline
  • 3 years of experience supporting transmission line engineering and project execution
  • Experience supporting utility, consulting, EPC, or infrastructure environments
  • Understanding of transmission engineering standards and utility design practices
  • Experience with engineering and design platforms such as:
    • PLS-CADD
    • PLS-POLE
    • PLS-TOWER
    • AutoCAD
    • MicroStation (preferred)
  • Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
