Our client is a nationally recognized engineering and infrastructure consulting organization supporting critical power and utility initiatives across North America. As energy demand continues to increase through grid expansion, electrification, renewable integration, and large-scale infrastructure development, they are growing their Power Delivery team and seeking a Transmission Line Engineer.
Job Description
- Perform engineering and design activities for overhead transmission line projects ranging from approximately 69kV-765kV
- Support development of:
- Route evaluations and line siting support
- Transmission line plans and profiles
- Structure spotting and optimization
- Pole and tower loading analysis
- Conductor and shield wire selection
- Sag and tension calculations
- Foundation loading coordination
- Construction packages and material development
- Prepare engineering calculations and technical documentation supporting transmission system design and reliability requirements
- Coordinate with Civil, Structural, Substation, Environmental, Survey, and Construction teams throughout project execution
- Support preparation of project schedules, scopes, budgets, and engineering deliverables
- Participate in design reviews, constructability assessments, and quality control processes
- Support procurement activities and technical coordination with vendors and utility stakeholders
- Communicate project status, risks, and technical recommendations to project leadership and clients
- Mentor junior engineers and designers while supporting technical development across project teams
- Provide field engineering and construction support as required
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Transmission Line Engineer Should Have
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related engineering discipline
- 3 years of experience supporting transmission line engineering and project execution
- Experience supporting utility, consulting, EPC, or infrastructure environments
- Understanding of transmission engineering standards and utility design practices
- Experience with engineering and design platforms such as:
- PLS-CADD
- PLS-POLE
- PLS-TOWER
- AutoCAD
- MicroStation (preferred)
- Strong communication and multidisciplinary coordination skills
