Job Description
Project Coordination
- Assist senior PMs with day‑to‑day project execution across transmission, substation, and distribution scopes.
- Help coordinate activities between engineering, procurement, field teams, and client stakeholders.
- Track project milestones, deliverables, outage windows, construction sequencing, and permitting activities.
- Support the management of project documentation, action logs, and meeting minutes.
- Help maintain and update project schedules with input from technical teams (P6/MS Project exposure preferred).
- Monitor progress and assist in identifying schedule risks, delays, and resource conflicts.
- Support cost tracking, budget updates, forecasting, and Project Controls reporting.
- Prepare weekly/monthly project dashboards, progress summaries, and client‑facing updates.
- Assist with monitoring scope changes, potential impacts, and required documentation.
- Support contract administration tasks, including purchase orders, change requests, and vendor coordination.
- Ensure alignment between engineering deliverables, procurement timelines, and field execution plans.
- Interface with construction managers and field personnel to gather progress updates and site information.
- Help track RFI responses, submittals, deliverables, and as‑built documentation.
- Learn and apply utility safety, energized‑work, and brownfield environment considerations.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful T&D Assistant Project Manager Should Have
- 1-5 years of experience in a utility, EPC, construction, engineering, or project support role.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous priorities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively with engineers, field staff, and client representatives.
- Willingness to travel 10-25% for site visits, meetings, or project support.
- Familiarity with Primavera P6, MS Project, or other scheduling tools.
- Experience with project controls, cost tracking, or Earned Value concepts.
- Understanding of utility standards, drawings, or substation/T‑line terminology.
- Interest in pursuing PMP or similar credentials in the future.
- Competitive hourly rate from $45/hr to $60/hr , based on experience.
