Job Description
The Superintendent | Commercial Construction | Charlottesville, VA will:
- Direct all on-site construction activities from project startup through closeout.
- Manage project schedules and ensure work progresses safely, efficiently, and on time.
- Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and field personnel.
- Partner closely with Project Managers to maintain budget, schedule, and quality objectives.
- Lead daily site operations, safety meetings, and construction planning efforts.
- Monitor project milestones and proactively resolve field challenges.
- Maintain project documentation, reports, and communication with stakeholders.
- Ensure all work is completed according to contract documents, company standards, and client expectations.
- Supervise Assistant Superintendents, Project Engineers, and field staff when applicable.
- Foster positive relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project partners.
The Successful Applicant
The Superintendent | Commercial Construction | Charlottesville, VA will have:
- 10 years of commercial construction experience.
- Proven experience leading ground-up construction projects valued at $10M-$15M .
- Strong understanding of commercial construction methods, scheduling, and site management.
- Ability to lead teams, communicate effectively, and build strong working relationships.
- Track record of delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget.
- Commercial project experience preferred, though diverse project backgrounds will be considered.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel preferred.
- CAD experience is a plus.
- Local to or willing to relocate near the Charlottesville, VA area.
