Job Description
Accounts Payable Specialist
- Review and verify invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for accuracy and proper authorization.
- Accurately enter invoices and payment transactions into the accounting system in a timely manner.
- Maintain vendor records and serve as a point of contact for vendor inquiries.
- Process payments through checks, ACH, wire transfers, and other approved payment methods.
- Reconcile vendor statements and investigate discrepancies to ensure accurate account balances.
- Prepare accounts payable reports and provide information for management review.
- Assist with month-end and year-end close activities related to accounts payable.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and applicable financial regulations.
- Partner with internal departments to resolve invoice, payment, and documentation issues.
- Maintain organized records of accounts payable transactions for audit and compliance purposes.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and financial records.
- Assist with additional finance and accounting projects as needed.

The Successful Applicant
A Successful Accounts Payable Specialist Should Have
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in financial data processing.
- Understanding of basic accounting principles and accounts payable procedures.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Effective communication skills for working with vendors and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information appropriately.
- Reliable attendance and a strong sense of accountability.
- Ability to follow company policies and comply with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Previous accounts payable experience or experience in a related accounting or finance function.
- Experience supporting month-end close activities and audit processes.
- Competitive salary ranging from $60,000 to $65,000.
