Job Description
- Lead preconstruction and estimating efforts on large commercial projects across multiple sectors.
- Prepare conceptual, schematic, and detailed estimates, including GMP development.
- Support CM at Risk (CMR) project delivery, collaborating early with owners and design teams.
- Perform quantity takeoffs, cost modeling, scope analysis, and subcontractor bid leveling.
- Lead value engineering, constructability reviews, and cost optimization discussions.
- Coordinate with project executives, operations leaders, and project management teams for smooth project handoffs.
- Maintain estimating databases, historical cost data, and pricing benchmarks.
- Participate in client presentations and preconstruction interviews as needed.
- Support and mentor junior estimating staff as the team continues to grow.
The Successful Applicant
A Successful Senior Estimator/Preconstruction Manager Should Have
- 5-10 years of experience as a Senior Estimator or Preconstruction Manager with a general contractor.
- Proven background estimating large‑scale commercial projects.
- Experience across sectors such as education, healthcare, public works, or sports/entertainment is preferred but not required.
- CMR experience is a strong plus.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Strong financial, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Collaborative communicator who works well within lean, fast‑moving teams.
- Desire to grow into expanded leadership as the company continues to scale.
