Job Description
- Manage transmission and substation projects ranging from 12kV through 500kV from planning through construction and commissioning.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, budgets, resource plans, and execution strategies.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams including engineering, design, environmental, permitting, procurement, and construction personnel.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for utility, renewable energy, and industrial clients.
- Monitor project financial performance, forecasts, and profitability.
- Identify project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate engineering deliverables and ensure adherence to client requirements and quality standards.
- Oversee projects involving 69kV, 115kV, 138kV, 230kV, 345kV, and 500kV transmission lines and substations.
- Support contract negotiations, change management, and scope modifications.
- Facilitate project meetings and provide status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
- Support proposal development, business development efforts, and client relationship management.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, regulatory, and company standards.
- Assist with construction support, field issue resolution, and project closeout activities.
The Successful Applicant
A successful Project Manager - Substation & Transmission should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 7 years of experience managing utility, transmission, or substation projects.
- Experience managing projects within electric utility, consulting, or EPC environments.
- Strong understanding of transmission and substation project lifecycles.
- Proven experience managing project schedules, budgets, and client relationships.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project, Primavera P6, or similar project management software.
- Competitive base salary ranging from $153,000 to $187,000 annually.
